Development and Competitive Tracks
The development track allows athletes who may want to race some, or who aren’t able to be at every practice or who are less focused on outcome measures to have a peer group and coaching expectations to meet those needs.
The competitive track allows athletes who want to focus on racing and outcome measures, and who want to commit to every practice and some extra work the opportunity to do that with clear coaching and cohort expectations.
All athletes (novices included) can attend regattas, and we encourage them to do so! These tracks are fluid and athletes have opportunities to move from one track to another should their preference change and provided they are willing to commit to the expectations of the other track. We have asked athletes to state their initial preference during registration so that coaches can prepare equipment and staff to be ready on the first day so that we spend less time sorting and more time rowing.
Novices will not indicate a “development” or “competitive” track. This is for returning athletes.
Signup Procedure for All Programs
Step 1: Visit Boathouse Connect (by clicking the link above) and create an account. Make sure to use your child’s information for the account, including email address and phone number. After their account is created, select “CJC- Colorado Jr Crew” from the drop down on the page to request to join the organization. You will be approved straight away.
In order for parents to receive emails, please go to My Profile-> and select Contacts. You can click on Add Additional Contacts and add email addresses and phone numbers of parents to the account. All contacts listed on the account will receive communications from the club.
Step 2: Once your account is approved, you can join any CJC programs but you will need to add (and maintain) a payment method to cover the cost of the programs first. You can do this by going to Finances -> My Finances-> Add Payment Method and add a debit/credit card or ACH.
Step 3: Now you can join the programs of your choice by going to Groups -> My Groups and joining the group related to your program. You may be requested to sign a waiver in order to join the group and then it will ask to charge your payment method.
Step 4: Once your account is in place you can easily sign up for future programs with the club. You can also track your performance, receive communications about the club, alerts regarding practices, scheduling, etc from your coach. Welcome to the CJC family.
